Family Session!
The other day, I was making plans with a friend and said, “how about the first week of September?” What a surreal sentence, because I’m pretty sure it’s still March? Maybe June? Who knows anymore…
In a week, I’ll officially be done with my masters. That is also a very surreal sentence. If you had told me this time last year that I’d be here, finally, I’m not sure I would have believed you. If you had told me it would be mostly completed during a pandemic…I would have laughed at you and given my therapist’s business card. Alas, here we are.
I’m sad, you guys. I’m actually crying as I type this. These last nine years have been about my business and my education. I built my business during my bachelors. I grew into Austin during my masters. It’s so bittersweet, closing this chapter. “What about a PhD?” some people have asked me. I’ve looked into some programs, none of it feels right though. A PhD in creative writing would be so awesome, but the programs aren’t generally built for people who run businesses. Somehow, they still take four years AND require a foreign language fluently learned. So, I’m trying to find something new to fill the void. I love learning, so I’m sure I’ll figure it out. I’ve been studying ASL every day and I’ve always wanted to learn a new language, like really learn it. Maybe it’s finally time!
I’ve also been diving into new things concerning photography. It was just my luck that my good friend Livia has an adorable family, with two sweet little girls that she has trained to smile on command. They were all patient enough for me to try out new fun activity prompts for clients. I’m just blessed to have wonderful friends like her!
