Lovin’ this engagement session at Walnut Creek Park!

Man, April is more than halfway through and that is a relief. What an insane month it’s been so far. As I write this blog, I’m traveling back from Maryland and Montana, which were both just great trips. In Maryland, I saw Karie and Marc. I do their family portraits almost every year, which is always so much fun. I love this family, watching these kiddos grow up.

Then I went to Montana, where I had never been before. Man, what a stunning place. I did a styled shoot there with some wedding planners, but it was so much more than that. I made some new friends! Expanding my tribe always brings me great joy. I enjoy collecting good people almost as much as I love playing Pokemon.

I’m excited to come home and finish out this month with renewed vigor. May, things slow down a little bit, strangely enough. I had REALLY been wanting to focus on my novel this month, but it has unfortunately fallen to the wayside. While traveling, instead of writing, like I normally do…I just relaxed. I finished a book I’ve been working on for a couple of months and started a new one. I caught up on Game of Thrones (omgggg the last season!!!) and also got some solid amazing sleep. No regrets, although I suspect I shall panic a bit trying to catch up!

Before I left, I did Sara and Joe’s engagement session and it was SO MUCH FUN! I got to meet their new pupper, Ruth. Oh, Ruth. I like you. She is a honey badger in a dog’s body, let me tell you.

I also enjoyed spending time with Sara and Joe. They’re so damn adorable together. It had been a stunner of a day, with perfect sunshine that lit up Walnut Creek Park. Ruth even graced us with a few perfect poses!

Here’s to a slightly warm and sunny rest of April! Check out their amazing texas vineyard wedding here!
