Look At Wendy And Lindsay’s Lucky Arrow Retreat Wedding
Y’ALL! It has been absolutely crazy around here. I’m currently finishing up my second-to-last edit for my long-awaited polyamorous dark romance. I wrote the very first draft in Nov 2020 for NaNoWriMo. It came out of nowhere and POOF! It was on paper. Except it’s almost entirely different from that draft, as it happens. hah! It isn’t my first novel—if you’re new around here, I published one back in 2017. I have another novel I wrote for my master’s degree but I’m not sure it’ll ever see the light of day. Only time will tell.
Anyway, my busy season seriously wiped me. I’m talkin’ 100-hour weddings from the beginning of October to the end of November. Thankful that I’ll never be doing that again! My clients are pretty awesome but there’s just something about not sleeping I hate…
Anyway, I wanted to share some amazing weddings I recently did. This one was at Lucky Arrow Retreat. I had never been there before but it was a serious blast. Granted, there were some difficulties that day. I always joke—but quite serious—that no matter the situation, personally or professionally, I always produce. I’ve done weddings where I’m ill, have a broken foot, it’s a terrible storm, I’m devastated by a break-up, or even guests have made my job difficult. Hell, even vendors can make the experience so difficult, especially newbie planners. I once spent a 12-hour wedding absolutely furious with the video team because they kept jumping in the way and hogged the whole aisle. Yet, I always create art that I’m proud of. Wedding vendors can’t just call in if they’re not feelin’ it, so I bring 11 years of experience to the table and do my absolute best.
Not gonna lie, the pandemic has also made things so hard. Ask any wedding vendor how they’re feeling right now and grab a cup to catch all the tears. I had a wedding planner friend recently receive a one-star review that said along the lines of, “She did a great job, we loved her! So good at her job! We just had to wait a week for meetings more often than not.” Sometimes, I wonder if some people are even listening to themselves. I’m positive you’ve thought the same thing once or twice. hah!
Anyway, here is a radtastic glimpse into a wedding that presented multiple challenges but I’m really proud of them. This wedding was so fun, with so many beautiful details. I loved how they brought their doggos to say hello—all of them are rescues!! And, of course, that stunning sunset light is *chefs kiss*. There were so many beautiful emotions on this day, the kind that make me love my job. And yes, the officiant dressed up in the beginning of the ceremony. SO FUN!
