Check out this gorgeous Casa Cartel Micro-Wedding!
Before I tell you about this Casa Cartel Wedding, let me tell you something fun! So the other week, I took a solo trip down to Galveston with ma dawg, enjoying time away from it all. All being the world, essentially. Vacationing isn’t what it used to be for me, not with my food allergies. A lot of meals were cooked in my Airbnb, but really, I just wanted to chill out and show Argo the ocean for the first time. He was STOKED. I spent hours exhausting him. When we got home, it took four days for him to want to play fetch again. Having a border collie means that is NO easy feat, so I felt quite accomplished.
I also read THREE books! Thought I would share them, since what the hell we got going on right now anyway?? I’ve been trying to voraciously read books while I write one, so trust me when I say something is good! First up is The Wives. Dude, this book had so many twists and turns. The ending was great too! It’s in first person, but done really personably. Easy summer read for anyone! Next up was The One, where society discovers a way to connect soul mates through their DNA. It’s told in multiple third person view points that took some time to sift through, but still, worth it in the end. Netflix picked it up too, so read it before the secret is spoiled! Last but DEFINITELY not least, Vox. This one is quite relevant to society, an echo of The Handmaid’s Tale. Women (of all ages) are only allowed to have 100 words a day and if they go over, they are electrocuted. Told in first person by a fed up female scientist, I can’t recommend this one enough.
I’m currently reading A Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, the Hunger Games prequel. Also a bit rough in the beginning, but it has cleaned up nicely towards the middle. I’ve also almost finished all of Neal Shusterman’s books, which are fantastically detailed and well developed dystopian novels.
When I’m not reading or writing, I’m working. For instance, this awesome Casa Cartel Wedding I had a few weeks back. It was at Casa Cartel, a STUNNING Airbnb. Seriously, I walked around with my mouth wide open as I walked around. There were less than ten of us there, with masks on, just enjoying the love Corley and Melonie have for one another. One of the sweetest things Melonie wrote to Corley was, “Tyler Knott Gregson said, ‘when you have swam in the sea, a lake will no longer do; everyone else was always a pond, but the ocean was always you.’ Corley, you are my ocean.” *insert tears here* So damn sweet. I MISS weddings y’all. So much. I’m like a coke addict, wanting to snort up some love and emotion, damnit! In case you’re also missing that, check out the images below.
