Go Gaga over The Ranch at San Patricio wedding!
Wow. Am I excited to share this wedding at The Ranch at San Patricio. Not only was it a stunning venue, but this couple is also probably one of my favorites in my entire career. Maybe the Rona is skewing my perspective. It’s hard to say. After eight months of postponed weddings, difficult people that are thankfully not my clients anymore, and holed up in home craving the release only my camera can bring…it was a real treat heading out to Mathis, Texas for this lovely wedding at The Ranch at San Patricio. When Mary hired me earlier this year, we immediately clicked. The crazy thing is that her mother-in-law googled “nearby photographers”…a couple of hundred miles away from anywhere my SEO is focused! I cannot tell you how many times we exclaimed, “this was meant to be! The Universe wanted us to meet!”
While 2020 was hard, this wedding for Mary and Fidencio made it up in spades. She would text and email me randomly, to share how excited she was for me to capture these moments. How she believed I would get it all. How talented I am. What I gift I have.
I’m not gonna lie, after the summer I had with my business…I cried a few times. To be fully appreciated, before my finger had snapped a photo…it was the best thing. Of course, I’ve had amazing clients. This year though, I needed this.
One of the really cool things about The Ranch at San Patricio is that they offer a massive ranch house for you to stay at with fam/friends. It was a great experience. My second shooter, Sarah, and the videographer…Sarah (yes, that got confusing sometimes), we all stayed there the night before in one of the rooms. It was super fun, laying in bed and having an adult sleepover moment before going to bed. The small little moments like that are a rare commodity right now.
The day started so early. Fidencio and his buddies decided to skeet shoot, so of course, I had to take photos of that! All in all, the day was about thirteen hours. I loved every second of it. Well, that’s not entirely true. Unfortunately, there was an AWFUL gnat infestation that made the ceremony and photos really difficult. Unexpected, for sure. However, that didn’t stop us from taking really amazing photos!! Everything about the moments of the day was just incredible. From Mary’s excitement, her devotion to God, the love they have for one another…it was also so inspiring. Check out her worship dance after the first dance!
I also loved how warm and welcoming her whole family was. The amount of intention and mindfulness that went into this wedding was everything I want all of my client’s weddings to be. Mary even took time to be alone, to recharge (she’s an introvert), and journal. You know I love that, as shown in this blog about wedding tips for introverts!
This one is definitely for the books, a memory I will cherish forever. Don’t miss their super fun engagement session at Gruene!
Shout out to the rad vendors that made this possible!!!
