So my busy season is ramping up. In the next ten weeks, I have eleven weddings, four elopements, four sessions, two expos, in Houston twice, Dallas Twice, Corpus Christi once. I have a few parties, including the birthday party for the boyfriend, a masquerade ball, two friends visiting me and a couple concerts. During all this, I want to keep my partner my focus, my dog happy and healthy, my own body fit and making sure I can see my friends when I can.
The simple fact is that I’m exhausted just thinking about it. But I’m excited, because it’s a full wedding season working with vendors I love and vendors I’m excited to finally be working with. Austin has been SO good to me and I am spending three minutes every day to count my blessings, to make sure the word “grateful” tattooed on me reflects my inner truth.
The first engagement of this crazy season was with Mikhal & Casey, who are…if I must say, a damn good lookin’ couple! Casey’s humor, once he warmed up, was dry and blunt, a kind of humor I find delightful. He would flash a smile and I teased him, accusing him of using his smile to get away with murder. Mikhal then told a story about how Casey told his GRANDMOTHER that Mikhal sleep walked and to make sure all of the doors were locked at night. Mikhal, having just met said grandmother, was mortified and had to assure the terrified grandma that she did not, in fact, sleep walk.
So that’s his sense of humor in a nutshell.
They have these two adorable aussie pups, who were a handful but so cute it was hard to remember that they weren’t fans of other dogs. They lost their shit any time another dog walked by, which made me laugh. They’re like twenty pounds! Trying to take on pit bulls! haha!
It was a perfect start to my busy season. I’m excited for their wedding in July (albeit, NOT excited for the heat) and can’t wait to see them again!
