I’m loving this Lakeway Resort Wedding!
I remember the day I met these two. It was actually my first foray into Austin traffic, driving up I35, wondering where I was going. At the time, the traffic didn’t bother me too bad, albeit it was surprising. I showed up at this bar, the name probably Mars could remind me of, where they served only beer and pizza. There sat Mars and Larry, smiling. They were planning a Lakeway Resort Wedding and I couldn’t have been more excited!
These two were the first peeps to hire me in Austin and for that, I’m eternally grateful. Mars is an admirable woman, helping organize the Austin Women’s March, while flying to the DC march, to represent our great city and women as a whole. I’m not saying she’s a full rep for allllllll of us, but she’s a damn good starting point. She’s fiery and passionate about the success of equality, whether it’s for women or men!
If you recall, they had their gorgeous engagement sesh at the LBJ Library, a beautiful piece of arcitecture. I also got to know how Mars and Larry are foodies to the bone, always open to suggest some of the best places to eat. They made moving to Austin easier and I love them for it.
Their wedding day was at Lakeway Resort, almost an hour out of Austin. They were minimal with their vendors, hiring Pearl Austin for make-up and Mindy for hair. The flowers and dessert were from Central Market. The resort provided the food, which was yummy too!
What I loved about the day is that neither of them shied away from the idea of making the day their own. I’ve never had a bride coordinate her hair, tattoos and flowers…and I’m kind of a massive fan of it now. ::cough cough:: Hint. Hint. Nudge. Nudge.
All in all, it was a good day. And they’re married. I don’t think we could ask for more.
