Feel the October sunshine in this Laguna Gloria Anniversary Shoot!
I want to tell you about this shoot at Laguna Gloria, but first:
Here is my 2019 in a nutshell: I started it fresh-faced and dewy-eyed (this is barely true), ready to conquer 2019 like I was climbing Everest (this is really true). This year has been my Everest. It has been absolutely batshit insane as if my life is Trump’s tweets and I’m just a pawn in the Universe’s maniacal plan.
As a lot of you probably know, I have been polyamorous since 2017. I was with my partner, a familiar red-bearded lad, and for a while, we weren’t dating anyone. I had a lot of myself I needed to tackle; a new partner would only be a distraction.
Yet, in January, I planned a date with a dude I had been talking to for over a year. His name was Josh. Well, that date lasted four hours. It was amazing, talking about everything under the sun and feeling so comfortable. Yet, I wasn’t ready. I could feel it in my bones that the timing wasn’t right. I communicated this and he understood. Yet, fast forward a mere six weeks later, I asked him out on a second date. I couldn’t get him out of my head!
And thus began the slow unraveling of my life. LOL
I’ll chat more about my 2019 in a later blog, for sure, but I wanted to take a moment and reflect on transitions. I’ve been through some massive ones this year. I’m about to move for the third time this year (Josh and I will finally have our own place) and I’m tired y’all. I HATE MOVING. So freakin’ much. I am so glad I have my business to lean on, knowing that businesses are like plants. You get what you put into the soil. Well, I’ve overhauled my soil and I’ve planted some seeds. All I can do is provide my dreams with sunshine, water and a little bit of fertilizer that oddly looks like writing blogs.
Speaking of my business, here is Carina and Ernie…who are easily some of my favorites. They laugh all the time, they’re so in love it’s infectious and frankly, they bring out some of the best energy in me. Their wedding was absolutely incredible, so I knew we would have a good time. Frankly, I don’t think a wedding photographer could ask for more from a client that has chosen them. We went to Laguna Gloria for the session, which I’ve always wanted to do.
TBH, I’m TIRED of shooting at the same parks. This was a lovely treat, with stunning October sunshine at our side. Laguna Gloria is certainly perfect for your couple’s portrait session! Carina and Ernie had a blast, just by being together. They have an easy love, full of giggles. When I asked them how their first year was, Carina goes, “easy!” And that’s how it should be!
Laguna Gloria costs $100 to shoot at, but you get the whole place to yourself. It has such a European feel (which is why I chose it for them, they got married at The Gardens of Cranesbury View, which is similar to a French estate.
Anyway, here’s to hopefully not moving again for a while. Here’s to clients that keep a pep in my step. Here’s to grace and understanding from others. Here’s to nights where you sleep like the dead.
*Cheers*
