Feelin’ this Texas Old Town Wedding!

But first, lemme tell you how life has been!

The new year is here!!! I’m proud to say that I have begun to pursue some of my goals already, including chasing my TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certification. I remember learning about this certification ten years ago, actually. I’ve applied to three different programs and each time, the universe has brought me elsewhere. I even applied and was accepted into the University of Texas’ CELTA certification, but my ex had me so stressed and feeling unsupported…it didn’t happen.

The Groupon came out with this certification course for pennies on the dollar. All of the reviews were stoked and said how legit it is, so what do I have to lose? I don’t even know what I’ll do with it, but I do know I eventually want to reach this goal. Right there next to my goal of finishing my master’s this year. I just want to close out some of these long-term goals that I have. If only to just feel that sense of satisfaction. Things I’ve been chasing for years, finally completed. I’m eager for those moments.

Speaking of moments, they’re my jam. Like the moment’s Brooke and Justin had on their wedding day at Texas Old Town’s Rosebud Hall! It was a beautiful day, pretty much like every day I’ve had this past fall/winter season. I mean, is Texas even aware it’s supposed to be cold?

As are most of my clients, Alanna is a sweetheart. We met for lunch a couple of weeks prior and she has led a fascinating life. She once worked at a local jail and told me all sorts of stories. Wayyyy back when I applied to be a prison guard. I got an interview but only a month after I joined the military. I get my prison fix through Orange Is the New Black and Wentworth episodes. Just like watching all 76 seasons of Grey’s Anatomy, I’m basically an experienced prison guard now.

I DIGRESS. This wedding was a delight. It was a slow-moving wedding, so I got to play with some really fun ideas! Their night shot was one of my favorites in a while too! It was a great wedding towards the end of this epic past season, so thank you to Alanna and Johnny for being amazing and keepin’ the fire alive in my soul.
