Wedding at the Hodge Podge Lodge
A quaint bed & breakfast wedding venue!
Have you ever been to the Hodge Podge Lodge in Montgomery, Texas? I hadn’t been there but boy, when I rolled up, I was in love. It’s an adorable bed and breakfast, with a couple of rooms for people to stay in. A mainstay of the lodge is a very swanky yet adorable restaurant that seems to be quite popular! Of course, with my luck, there were only two items on the menu I could eat. Thanks food allergies. But! The pork chop that was ceremoniously placed on my table was delectable! It was actually that week I had decided to go sober, so it was an odd experience, traveling and not getting tipsy, but the water paired well with my pork chop…now on to the actual Hodge Podge Lodge wedding!
Lindsey and David are a super fun couple. You might have seen their Cavern engagement portraits on a different blog. Lindsey has a background in theatre and boy, it shows. She was the most expressive bride I’ve ever had, chattering and enjoying herself through the whole process. Where she is boisterous and talkative, David a reserved engineer. A solid match and well-balanced pairing. Despite the impending weather that seemed determined to screw with us (it ultimately failed), the ceremony and portraits were done with lovely overcast weather. Of course, I LOVE brunch weddings and they had an omelet bar!
When the official reception was over, everyone packed up and went to a nearby park. Lindsey was determined to fly a kite and while the wind didn’t give a shit about her feelings, she tried anyway. Oh, and you see the puppy towards the end? Lindsey’s parents foster service puppies, prepping them for school. This one was a nine-week-old puppers who was a tiny piranha. You know I love puppies at weddings!
