This is definitely one of those weddings that really brought things to center for me as a photographer. I don’t do enough elopements, not anymore. *And I want to.* I remember doing them all the time in Hawaii. It was easy and I loved the space to connect with my clients and get creative. The big weddings here in Austin are fun but they’re so BIG and LONG. I miss when I worked 2-3 hours in a day and called it quits. I just want to do small quaint events like this every so often. So hire me, hopefully. hah!
So imagine my joy when I got this absolutely perfect elopement with Questella and Rita at Cypress Valley Canopy Tours. Questella got ready in a YURT that was in a TREE. Like seriously? So perfect. Then there was that bridge that swayed and hopped as we went from spot to spot. Thank goodness I got over some of my fear of heights through these past few years! We also shared some champagne at the end, because as I told them: no good day happens without champagne. I’m a big lover of champagne and apparently they were too!
This was one of the best and prettiest days in actual December. Thank goodness, because I know Questella and Rita just simply wanted the best day possible. They didn’t invite anyone else, just my team and that was it. After the ceremony, with Spike as the officiant, they had a lovely picnic where they exchanged a lot of custom and personal gifts. I know a lot of clients that would have loved a simply and loving day like this. We kept it chill and the energy mellow. Just a low-key celebration all day! I highly recommend!
