You know, a new habit I’m starting is sharing with you the mishaps from the wedding day. Almost any wedding day has hiccups, some worse than others. I think it’s fun to share the mishaps, simply because it shows my clients that even if shit goes downhill in certain ways, you still end up hitched and your photos are still rockin’.
However, I have to tell you…shit went *really* downhill at Erin and Jon’s wedding. It was Jason’s (my Other Significant Partner) first wedding with me, mainly because I was laid the hell up in bed for three days before this wedding and probabbbblllyyyy should have gone to the hospital. I remember being on the phone the day before the wedding, talking to a couple doctors and nurses I know and they were all telling me that I probably should go into the nearest clinic. I called some photographers to secure a backup, just in case. Then stubbornly went to work anyway.
THEN on top of that, Erin was 90 MINUTES LATE AT HER WEDDING hahaha She showed up from the salon, in a flurry of energy. We got her dressed and ready to go, skipping the first look. Then during the ceremony, no one had grabbed the rings. Haha Jason had to run and go find them, so these two could pass the round symbols of love to one another. THEN when the ceremony was over, I had about 15 minutes to get everything done, including couples portraits. It was a crazy amount of rushing to get it all done…but it got done.
But the topping to this day…was when we were in the golf cart, driving Jon and Erin around…and backed up into her DRESS and ripped some of the tule. I was mortified but tried so hard not to show it. Instead, I was like, “well, that’s not too bad, so come over here before the sun sets!”
In the end, Erin’s only response was, “well, I got to marry the love of my life…so who cares what goes wrong?”
Atta girl. ATTA GIRL.
In the end, she DID marry Jon. She DID have a wonderful wedding day. Afterwards, they went to Disney for their honeymoon and it was so much fun keeping up with their first days of marriage through Facebook.
Congrats you two!
