Loving this gorgeous LGBT San Antonio Riverwalk Wedding! We’re such big LGBT supporters!
“I’m really nervous,” he said, tension rolling off him in waves. “I know we’re going to get some some negative attention.” I looked at him questioningly.
“What do you think will happen? You’ll get harassed?”
“When I was 21, someone called us a faggot down here.” His voice wavered, betraying how nervous he was.
I rubbed his shoulder and smiled. “Don’t worry, you got Mama Bear here.”
Granted, we were going to the most famous site of Texas, which is a notoriously red state. I was confident though, and entirely willing, to kick some fucking ass if someone uttered any derogatory term towards my clients. I won’t tolerate it.
Luckily, everything was fine, minus accidentally breaking the law. Turns out I wasn’t *really* supposed to be photographing them in front of the Alamo. I had NO idea, but we nailed the shot and walked away, feeling fly as fuck and happy as a ducks.
Conner and Brad have been together for nearly a decade and are just perfect together. I know I say that a lot, but legit, these two were meant to be. Brad is a cop in Houston, a former Marine and yet, look at those tears! Look at the love! The affection spilled over, with me getting hugged a lot towards the end of the day. I think my butt was grabbed at least once. haha!
This summer has been filled with wonderful, fantastic clients, these two not being an exception. Having smooth sailing is important when also tackling your Masters, so I’m forever grateful to the clients who appreciate how hard I work for them. My new tagline should be, “The Mama Bear You Never Had.” I’m declaring right here, right now, that I want to be come the premier LGBT Texas wedding photographer. Because everyone deserves a safe place.
