As it hits December, I’m a bit shocked to even realize it’s freakin’ December. Do you remember my life and trials from a year ago? I had just gotten done in Paris and was settling into Amsterdam, which was such an amazing city. I did all of the naughty and non-naughty things the city had to offer, giving myself a hotel room for the last week before I went to Nepal. I thought life was perfect, even though I definitely was deluding myself.
Here I am now in Austin, closing in on my first year in this glorious city and finding gratitude for all of the wonderful opportunities, friends and experiences that have covered me in kindess. When this year is over, I will have closed out with 41 full weddings and elopements. Forty fucking one. I showed up to Texas with FOUR weddings on the books. That’s it. I somehow, in less than a year, booked thirty-eight more weddings. I have twenty booked for next year alone. Holy shit y’all. Life is really good, even if sometimes i feel exhausted and burnt out.
Meghann and Rose are a wonderful example of how wonderful working hard can be. I met them at the May expo and after not hearing from them for a while, they reached out to me and I was SO EXCITED to still be available for them. First off, they think I’m hilarious, even though I’m not. I’m just the queen of sarcasm and dirty jokes. We went to the Zilker Botanical Gardens and while we only had 30 minutes before it was closing, we still had a good time and they got some beautiful happy images of them!
I cannot wait for their big day! Thanks you two for taking a chance on a newbie Austin photographer, you don’t know how much it means to me.
