I’m betting you’re looking for inspiration for your Marfa Portrait Session! Welcome!
This foggy Marfa Portrait Session is to die for. Seriously. My friends and I went to Marfa this past weekend, mainly for me to photograph them! It’s a six hour drive to Marfa, an obscure little “artsy” town. I use the term “artsy” because really, Marfa is kind of boring. No really. The only appeal is that it’s a safe place to do unsober activities. And even then, it’s so empty, my inner traveler cautions against wandering around the very very dark streets at night.
Marfa also gave us a slight “fuck off” because it rained and was hideous the whole time we were there. My other session with Lily and Noah was pretty in it’s own way but still, ewww. Rain can be fun, if it plays nice. Fog can be beautiful…if it plays nice.
Kasey is a new friend this year and a cake maker, a photographer and a bridesmaid for a wedding I have next year. She came down to Austin ages ago, for a couple hours of mentoring with yours truly. We got along so well, I immediately friended her on FB and have since seen her in Houston, stayed at her house, met her dogs and eaten Indian food with her. Kismet, am I right? When I put a model call out on my FB for peeps to join me in Marfa, she and Neil jumped at the chance, making it an awesome belated honeymoon trip for themselves. The night before our sunrise session, we got together with my road trip buddy Cassie and ate ourselves silly over pizza. Yes, I had pizza. as well as three lactaid. #worthit.
