I love the ring shot in this Duchman Winery Wedding! Scroll down to see it!
I remember the first time I met Jess and Jim. We met at the Austin Bridal Extravaganza and then a couple weeks later, at the Big Fake Wedding. They came up to me and told me they wanted to hire me, but asked to see my images on the back of my camera first. I hesitated, because who wouldn’t? What if I accidentally showed them a photo where the bride was making a weird cry face or a shot that was blurry for whatever reason? But I was brave and showed them any way. I remember how their face lit up, seeing photos from the ceremony. Jessica said and I quote, “your photos are better right out of the camera than some people with edited galleries.”
I remember how this past November, Jess and I went to see Anna Kendrick. We got drunk off random booze, I asked Anna a drunk question about writing a book and then we did a Pitch Perfect sing along, which was amazing. She has been amazing from the beginning and her wedding, filled with happy amazing friends from all over the world…made me realize how similar we are. She just wanted a wedding filled with pretty things, happy people and good music. No really, that cocktail hour had bomb music.
Duchman Winery is a gorgeous backdrop, but I have to say…I was disappointed about their mosquito management. Jess is EXTREMELY allergic and we weren’t able to get a ton of photos outside, because mosquitos the size of planes were landing on us and sucking up our blood. We eventually scrambled and freaked out until we got 100% DEET spray, but boy, that sucked. Then, the sunset fucked us over and the dreamy sunset ceremony they planned was botched. BOO. I’ve been sharing more about the bad things that happen during wedding days, because really, you need to realize things will go horribly wrong at times.
But you still get hitched. Jess and Jim hopefully love their images and while sure, a sunset in the background would have been bomb diggity, they still had an amazing happy day. And that’s what matters.
